Over on the gospel readings page we are reading through the book of Luke several days a week. And here's a catch up on the weekend teaching from 2 weeks ago... On Sunday we looked at Luke 6. Having been reading through some of Jesus' teaching, we zoomed in on this example of his teaching. They are challenging words. Very challenging!
Here's the whiteboard image of some of the things we learned about together. We love. We bless. We give and forgive. We pray. And this was the point... we don't simply do this for our friends or people we like. Everyone does that - mostly. When we start to do this for people who we do not naturally like, or who don't like us, that's Christlike! And beyond that - loving, blessing, giving, praying even with people who hate us or who we really don't like or feel uncomfortable with! Jesus challenges his followers to break the mould and live in surprising ways and so demonstrate something of the kingdom of God. Last Sunday morning we met for Urban Life Together and were thinking about how we serve together using our gifts. We looked at 1 Corinthians 12, and the words of Urban Life Value #6. Here's our summary. Tonight at St Chads Centre... the International supper is happening. 6.00pm.
Come and bring food from your culture, and try food from other's cultures! Tomorrow morning we will gather at St Chads at 10.30 for our monthly celebration. Join us for worship together, to learn from the bible, and to eat together. There will be activities for the children too.

Urban Life - followers of Jesus living life and bringing life in an urban setting!
The blog gives a snapshot of our life together as we post things we are learning about; things we believe; songs we love; readings and prayers to strengthen and help us; and general information about what is happening in our community. So here are updates, reviews, reminders and support for those who are part of our community, and a chance to 'look in' for those who are interested and wondering what we are all about. Archives
